Meet the Team: Jeff Zimmerman, President of Fort + Home

Jeff Zimmerman’s leadership at Fort + Home is rooted in both experience and vision. As President, Jeff oversees the financial strategy, development planning, construction execution, and overall coordination of projects. He is deeply involved in identifying the highest and best use of each property, evaluating feasibility, and ensuring that every development aligns with the firm’s long-term goals for profitability and community impact.

Raised in the small town of Silt, Colorado, Jeff grew up with a strong work ethic shaped by two passions: football and construction. His interest in building runs deep—fitting, perhaps, given that his surname means “carpenter” in German and that he attributes his early carpentry skills to his grandfather’s influence.

After high school, Jeff pursued collegiate football at the University of Wyoming before shifting his focus to construction full-time. He later completed his degree at Colorado Mesa University while working in the oil and gas industry, a period that instilled in him the discipline to balance demanding work with continued education.

It was during this time that Jeff purchased his first duplex, living in one side and renting out the other—a hands-on introduction to the financial potential of real estate. What began as a personal investment soon became a professional calling. Today, Jeff sees real estate not just as a vehicle for financial returns, but as a way to transform overlooked properties into something meaningful: homes, jobs, and stronger communities.

At the heart of Jeff’s approach is a belief that success goes beyond business.
